Strawberry Sensation Ice Cream
Strawberry Sensation Ice Cream
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
Prepare the Strawberry Mixture:
In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar. Let sit for about 15 minutes, until the strawberries release their juices.
Blend the Strawberries:
Using a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, pulse a few times to leave some pieces.
Mix the Base:
In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until well combined.
Combine and Chill:
Stir the strawberry puree into the cream mixture until evenly blended. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream:
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually for about 20-25 minutes.
Freeze and Serve:
Transfer the churned ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up. Scoop and enjoy!
