Crab seafood salad is a delicious and refreshing dish that combines the sweet and delicate flavor of crab meat with various seafood and fresh vegetables. Here’s a simple recipe to make a crab seafood salad:

Ingredients:

For the Salad:

  • 8 ounces lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 8 ounces cooked and peeled shrimp, chopped
  • 8 ounces cooked and chopped imitation crab (surimi)
  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Prepare the Seafood:
    1. If you’re using canned crab meat, make sure to drain it well. Fresh crab meat can also be used.
    2. For the shrimp, make sure they are cooked and peeled. You can use pre-cooked shrimp or boil them in salted water for a few minutes until pink, then peel and chop them.

    Make the Dressing:

    1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning to your liking.

    Assemble the Salad:

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, chopped shrimp, imitation crab, diced cucumber, red bell pepper, celery, red onion, hard-boiled eggs, and chopped dill.
    2. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and gently toss everything together until well coated with the dressing. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

    Chill and Serve:

    1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the crab seafood salad for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill.
    2. Before serving, give the salad another gentle toss. Garnish with extra dill if desired.
    3. Serve the crab seafood salad as a side dish, on a bed of lettuce, or in a sandwich or roll for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Crab seafood salad is a perfect option for a light and refreshing lunch or dinner, especially on a warm day. It’s packed with seafood goodness and vibrant flavors. Enjoy!
