Cheese Egg Toast Breakfast Recipe

  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped herbs (such as parsley or chives), sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon or ham, avocado slices, hot sauce, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Bread: Toast the bread slices in a toaster until they are lightly golden brown. Alternatively, you can toast them in a skillet or on a griddle with a little butter until crispy.
  2. Make Egg Wells: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or cooking oil to the skillet. Using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass, press a round well into the center of each bread slice. Remove the excess bread from the center to create a hole for the egg.
  3. Cook Eggs: Crack an egg into each well in the bread slices. Season each egg with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the eggs for 2-3 minutes, or until the whites are set and the yolks are still slightly runny. If you prefer well-done eggs, cover the skillet with a lid and cook for an additional minute or until the yolks are cooked to your liking.
  4. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the cooked eggs on each bread slice. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Carefully transfer the cheese egg toast slices to serving plates using a spatula. Garnish with your favorite toppings, such as chopped herbs, sliced tomatoes, avocado slices, cooked bacon or ham, or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  6. Enjoy: Serve the cheese egg toast hot and enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness!

This cheese egg toast breakfast is quick and easy to make, perfect for busy mornings or lazy weekends. You can customize it with your favorite toppings and experiment with different types of bread and cheese for endless variations.
