Water 1 cup
Sugar 3 1/2 cups
Light Corn Syrup 1 cup
Food Coloring 1 tbsp
Powdered Sugar 1 cup
Flavored Oil 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Workspace:
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Pour powdered sugar evenly onto the baking sheet.
  2. Mixing the Base:
    • In a pan, combine water, sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat.
    • Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Temperature Check:
    • Place a candy thermometer in the mixture, ensuring it doesn’t touch the pan’s bottom.
    • Let it boil undisturbed until it reaches 300 degrees.
  4. Adding Flavors:
    • Once it reaches 300 degrees, remove from heat.
    • Add the flavored oil and food coloring. Mix well.
  5. Coating in Sugar:
    • Dump the mixture onto the powdered sugar-covered baking sheet.
  6. Cooling Time:
    • Allow it to cool for about 30 to 45 minutes.
  7. Snap and Enjoy:
    • After cooling, give the candy a satisfying snap by smacking the bottom of the pan on the countertop.
