Hamburger Soup
Have made this soup several times. Delicious, hearty and I use no salt beef broth to lower sodium. Would highly recommend!
This is our favorite hamburger soup recipe. I wondered with diced tomatoes AND tomato soup this would be too “tomatoey” but it is not.
It has a wonderful flavor. My kids will be so happy to get home from school today and find this simmering.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ¼ teaspoon oregano
- ¼ teaspoon basil
- ⅛ teaspoon season salt
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 6 cups water
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 4 carrots, sliced
- ½ cup frozen corn
- 1 cup celery, sliced
- 1 cup dry macaroni noodles
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
In a large pot brown the beef, drain
Add seasonings and soup mix, stir well
SECOND STEP:
Stir in water, tomato sauce, and veggies – simmer on low for 30 minutes
THIRD STEP:
Add in macaroni and cook for an additional 30 minutes
