The Steak quesadilla is loaded with all my favorites. Tons of cheese and tender juicy steak. Plus it can hold all of my favorite toppings.
Are steak Quesadillas healthy?
The quesadilla is healthy as you want it to be. Yes, it has steak and cheese, however, other toppings are up to you. If you are watching what you eat, consider the toppings.
Do I have to use black beans?
You can use the type of bean you like on the loaded Steak Quesadilla. It does not have to be black beans.
What size of tortilla is suggested?
For the Loaded Steak Quesadillas, I suggest using large tortillas. The large is more able to hold the number of ingredients.
What sides should be served with the quesadillas?
The sides could include refried beans, Mexican Rice, and the toppings of your choice. Guacamole, sour cream or olives to begin.
What is the best cheese for Quesadillas?
The choice of cheese is tough. Pepper jack, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, and Mozzarella are the general choices. They are quite popular and taste great.
What kind of steak should be used?
Sirloin or skirt steak are top choices. However, I know many who have chosen to use Rib eye steaks.
Ingredients:
Sirloin steak
Chili powder
Paprika
Cumin
Oregano
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Salt
Large flour tortillas
Taco blend shredded cheese
Cherry tomatoes sliced
Fire-roasted corn drained
Black beans rinsed and drained
Avocado diced
Lime juice and chopped cilantro for garnish
How To Make Loaded Steak Quesadillas:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2. In a small bowl, combine the 1 tsp. chili powder , ½ tsp. paprika , ¼ tsp. cumin , ¼ tsp. oregano , ¼ tsp. garlic powder , ¼ tsp. onion powder , and ¼ tsp. salt .
Step 3. Season the steak with the spice mixture.
Step 4. Heat some oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak until done to your liking. Let rest, and then cut into pieces.
Step 5. Lay two large flour tortillas on a lined baking sheet.
Step 6. Top with ½ cup of cheese each.
Step 7. Evenly spread the steak over the two tortillas.
Step 8. Top the tortillas with ½ cup of black beans rinsed and drained .
Step 9. Then, add ½ cup of fire-roasted corn drained and ½ cup of cherry tomatoes sliced .
Step 10. Then, add ½ avocado diced .
Step 11. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the tortillas.
Step 12. Place two large tortillas on top of each quesadilla.
Step 13. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Step 14. Slice and serve garnished with fresh lime juice and cilantro.
