Slow Cooker Mongolian Ground Beef Chow Mein has become a beloved dish in households across the globe. Ingredients:

INGREDIENT QUANTITY
Ground beef 1 1/2 pounds
Garlic cloves, minced 3
Soy sauce 4 tablespoons
Hoisin sauce 2 tablespoons
Sesame oil 1 tablespoon
Fresh ginger, grated 1 tablespoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Brown sugar 1/4 cup
Beef broth 1/2 cup
Onion, thinly sliced 1 large onion
Coleslaw mix 1 bag (14 oz)
Chow mein noodles 8 oz
Sesame seeds For garnish
Sliced green onions For garnish

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Add minced garlic halfway through and cook until golden.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), brown sugar, and beef broth.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the cooked beef and garlic to the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the beef and add thinly sliced onions. Stir to combine.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
  5. Add Coleslaw Mix: Thirty minutes before serving, stir in the coleslaw mix. Cook until tender.
  6. Add Chow Mein Noodles: Just before serving, add cooked chow mein noodles to the slow cooker and mix well to coat.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
