Steak and Potatoes on a Stick

For me, I thought of kabobs when I saw a recipe like this for the first time. This is probably the most complete dinner meal I have found that is so easy to make. Each bite of the juicy steak and the creamy potato will have you wanting more. Way back, the classic meal that everyone ate was meat, potatoes and a vegetable. Then you had a salad, and a slice of bread with it. This one meal is perfect the way it is.

Kabobs was a favorite meal for me when I was in Girl Scouts. Our family was too large to make these for dinner at home. However, I have never forgotten the fun times of making kabobs, being able to choose what you wanted with the meat and potato. Kebabs were awesome, however, they really did not fill a person up. Prepare these in the morning and allow them to soak up flavors all day before placing them on the grill.

This meal is bound to make memories while sitting around on a picnic. This will be one of those highly requested meals more often. You can make many different variations of this by using different meats or vegetables. You can change up the spices and make your favorite rub for the steak.

If you want, go ahead and skewer some cherry tomatoes or other vegetables on the same skewer to make this a complete dinner with meat, potatoes and vegetables. Grilling is so much nicer in the warmer weather, you do not need to heat the house up using the stove or oven. Of course, there is no reason you cannot grill in cold weather also.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Yes, you can steam, bake or boil the potatoes. I then toss them in with garlic and olive oil.

What cut of steak should I use for this dish?

Any type of steak will work for this meal. You will be cutting the steak into cube sized pieces and then toss in with a seasoned rub.

You could skewer some peppers or mushrooms along with the potatoes and steak. You could even use broccoli or cauliflower.
