After having this, I’m never buying store-bought jars again! Can make in batches and pack into mason jars for up to 2 years

Ingredients:
4 chopped and cored apples
1 cup shredded beef or vegetarian suet
1 2/3 cups dark muscovado sugar
2/3 cup sliced almonds
7 cups mixed dried fruit (ideally with cranberries, etc)
1 tablespoon allspice
7 ounces brandy (or another 40% spirit like sherry, rum, or amaretto)
Zest of 1 orange and zest of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
1. In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients except brandy. Stir well, cover, and let sit overnight if possible.
2. After resting, stir again, and then cook on low heat for 6 hours (or 3 hours on high) in the slow cooker, stirring occasionally.
3. Turn off the slow cooker and allow the mixture to cool, stirring occasionally to prevent fat separation. Once cooled, stir in the brandy.
4. Transfer the mincemeat to sterilized jars. If using jars with seal buttons, they should depress within a day.

Enjoy immediately or store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 years.
Enjoy the delightful taste of Slow Cooker Mincemeat by incorporating it into your favorite desserts or enjoying it in a more traditional manner. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a comforting treat, this timeless recipe will surely satisfy your palate.
